Art Statement

Since 1999, I am concentrate on an art project “Zen/Tea” with my art partner Yizi. Some art critics think it is a concept art based on oriental philosophy. But to us, we are interested in a point where east meets west, old encounters the new, and bring the world together into a one. For Zen is universal and transcends cultural differences across time and space in the West as well as in the East.

We adopt the thinking of Zen to realize and experience the life and the world, also by experience “a cup of zen tea”- the way to transmit our concern and explanation to the life and world. So together we left our ateliers, our cities and lands to pursuit a road - we both experience “Zen/Tea” in the Chinese inland, and many places of the world, we fulfilled quite a number of art works with oil paintings, photos, ready-made objects, and articles...... we try to make the entire process open and omni-directional freely to close related to the world today.
